Documenting the Journey of Your Body

Today’s beauty standards are programmed into us from a young age. We see Victoria Secret models walking down runways with an idealized body, magazine covers are plastered with photoshopped women, and we wonder if we’ll ever feel (and look) that confident in our own skin.

Can I let you in on a secret? You already have the perfect body.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the idea that your body needs to change in order to be perfect, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Your body, as it is right now, is magnificent. And we want to celebrate the love our bodies give us! Documenting your body’s journey over the years is a sacred path leading to embracing our complete selves.

Honoring the Change

As we age, give birth, get married, breast feed, lose or gain weight, our bodies morph into different versions of ourselves. You may notice scars, cellulite, or parts of your body sagging more than you remember. And each of these changes is a thing of beauty. Your body is not meant to stay static and the same for years to come: it’s meant to change. While part of the journey is watching your physical body morph into new shapes, your essence is changing, too.

Leaning In

Does this mean our brains will automatically pick up the shift in how we perceive ourselves? Of course not, that shifting takes time to absorb into our conscious minds. But when we lean into that subtle change, we’ll embrace freedom through watching, accepting, and loving the changes we see in the mirror. When you’re tempted to criticize what you see, remember the moments where your body carried you and choose to focus on gratitude.

Documenting Through Boudoir

When you’re in front of my lens, I work to capture the diversity of the woman in front of me. I work to capture your ethos. Booking a boudoir session means, together, we’re capturing you in various stages of your life and immortalizing portions other people may never see. It gives us a chance to embrace the diversity of your body and acknowledge where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going.

If you’re ready to embark on this journey together, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s chat and book your session.
